THE LOWDOWN
We all go through transition periods in our life and I'm currently in a massive one for myself. On this week's episode I not only talk about the transitional phases I am in personally, but I share with you the transition this podcast is taking.
We are migrating from Sex and Money with Jess to Love Always, Jess.
It feels more aligned, so let's welcome in a new era and embrace the change!

Intro: Welcome to the Love Always, Jess podcast. I’m your host, Jess, and my mission is to give you the tools to step outside of your comfort zone and into your empowered self. Here, I encourage you to let go of shame and societal pressures and reimagine your future the way you want it. All of this is done through a lens of love. Love for self and love for others. When we show up in our best light, feeling confident, living vulnerably, and existing in our truth we give permission to others to do the exact same. If you’re ready to show up emboldened in your life, join me as we dive into hard topics, find joy in the small things, and love always.

Hello, I hope that this recording is finding you doing well. I have not been behind the mic in a little bit, umm, mainly because I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do with this podcast going forward. Umm, you know things have changed in my life, which we’ll dive into a little bit later, that have resulted in me just questioning the direction that I’m going, and where this podcast fits in. Umm, I hinted at on a couple of prior episodes that things with my podcast producer weren’t going well and as a result I kind of stepped back and took the time to think about, “okay, I’m going to be doing this myself going forward, what do I want this to look like?” I love all of the content that I have put out, but being one hundred percent truthful and transparent, the stuff with the podcast producer did put a bad taste in my mouth and kind of left me feeling a little meh about ‘Sex and Money with Jess.’

Umm, and it wasn’t just that. Like I mentioned, I’m transitioning in life. Umm, diving into it a little bit, back in 2022 my mom passed away and it really, it forced a shift in me. Umm, you know I grieved for a good while, and as I was coming out of the grieving process I realized that I had changed as a person, and as I began discovering myself again, and finding out who I am, and what my life looks like post my mother’s death, I’ve realized that focusing solely on sex and money isn’t where I want to be. I still love talking about those topics, but there’s so much more to me and to life than just those topics. I’m still truthfully trying to figure out the direction that I’m going to go, but with this podcast I’ve realized that I want to talk about more. I want to explore more. I want to open up the conversations to a multitude of things, and so I’m going to do just that.

You know, years ago, I knew deep down inside that I wanted to call my business Love Always, Jess. My friend in middle school used to sign a lot of her letters “Love Always,” and it really stuck with me. It became a signature that I adapted, so I sign cards, letters, notes to people, “Love Always, Jess.” It kind of became who I am. I’ve got a tattoo of it, which some of you might be like, “that’s egotistical to have your name on your body.” I don’t have my name on my body, I have a heart that says love always on it, but it is who I show up as in the world. I always show up with love. I make sure that love is at the forefront of what I do. I treat people with love. I show love to strangers. I make sure that every day I wake up loving myself, or trying to at least, because let’s be honest, loving yourself every day is not always easy to do.

So while I’m in this phase of trying to figure out where my future leads, I want to start to transition this podcast. So, from this moment forward, we’re on episode fifty-three, you will see a change. The podcast is now called ‘Love Always, Jess,’ which aligns with my brand, my business. All of the previous episodes are still going to exist. The intros and outros are going to change for all the previous episodes and going forward. Graphics are going to change. All that. Everything is going align more closely with my original brand. That doesn’t mean that we’re going to steer away from hard conversations. It doesn’t mean that we’re never going to talk about sex and money again, because they are topics that I love to talk about, but it does mean that we are going to branch out. We’re going to talk about other things. We’re going to invite guests onto the podcast more, which I’m very excited about. I had one guest previously to talk about real estate and I loved our conversation with her, but I feel like there’s so much going on in the world and I feel as if every day we show up and we’re constantly bombarded money, finances, because the economy has shifted so much.

You know, we have the rise of AI, which is getting rid of jobs across most industries. We have the increase in cost of goods and we have wars and a lot of not so good and fun things happening around the world. So I want this place to be somewhere where you can come and listen to things that might help you, might give you a little bit of a break from the sad news. Might give you a little bit of joy in life, and might even encourage you to grow, and become, and do things differently than what you’re used to right now.
[0:06:42]
I’m currently in a transitional phase, umm I would say I started the transitional phase around August of ’24. You know the thing about transitions is I think we feel that they need to be immediate, or that they need to happen within a few months, but that’s not always the case. I think we go through different phases of transitioning. I went through the transition phase of my mom’s cancer, and then I went through the transition phase of her passing, and now I’m in the rediscovering myself phase. Coming out of my darkness, coming out of my winter and entering my spring, getting prepared for summer to come. I would say right now I am in that spring season and have been for the past couple of years. I think I’m towards the end of my spring and getting ready to enter my summer, but I don’t feel like I’m quite in my summer phase yet. And with that comes me reexploring and rediscovering life in different ways, in ways that I used to enjoy life, and also in ways that I’ve never experienced before.
[0:07:49]
I look forward to coming on here and talking about things, such as religion and relationships. What it’s like to be an entrepreneur, or I don’t know what other topics that come up, but I hands down, one hundred percent want this to be a podcast where I show up loving myself and loving my life, and being a place for you to be like, “hey, I want to do that too,” because at the end of the day, no matter what is going around, going on around, going on in the world around us – there I finally got that out – going on in the world around us, I want us to know that life is worth living and that we’re allowed to stumble; we’re allowed to climb; we’re allowed to grieve and be happy and find joy and live life in all of its multitudes. In all of its glories. It was never promised that it would be easy, but it was promised that it would be worth it, and I, without a doubt, think that life is worth it.
[0:08:57]
So I am to show up in my true authentic form, loving every bit and piece, even the struggle, to its full potency, because that’s what we are meant to do as humans. We aren’t meant to live in the high all the time and we aren’t meant to live in the low all the time. We are meant to live in balance and experience it all. Come along on this journey with me as I transition my life, and my podcast, and everything else that I possibly can. Come along with me. Enjoy these moments and find that love for your own life that you can then extend that love unto others.
[0:09:43]
Alright, that’s all for now about the transition. I hope that you have a great, wonderful rest of your week, rest of your weekend, whenever it is that you’re listening to this, and I look forward to showing up more in a new, transformed, and still learning way. Love you.
